Chapter 10: Perceiving Depth and size

I decided for my last post to just analyze one of the photos I have taken now that i know more about visual perception of depth and size. I took this picture while I was on my way to work 2 weeks ago in the morning. I chose this one because it shows a couple different monocular cues that we have discussed in class. Both relative height and relative size are used when we look at the trees on either side of the road. Perspective convergence is evident when we look at the lines on the road. It appears that the road lines are moving toward each other as we look further down the road. In reality this is not the case, but we use this as a way to process the information given. There is atmospheric perspective in this photo, but it is not as evident in this one as it is in others.
