rubber hand illusion

This video is about the rubber hand illusion. A man ask random people to sit down, he puts one hand behind the cardboard and the other hand with the fake hand. he starts to stroke the fake hand and the hand that is behind the cardboard so the brain will adopt the fake hand as it own. the man pull out the hammer to hit the fake hand, all the people who volunteer to do this, jump as if it's the real hand. why did people jump? why did the brain adopt a fake hand? watch the video for more information

  1. I think it's really cool how the brain can temporarily rewire itself to make the plastic hand feel like your real hand. I can't believe the people jolted when he went to hit the fake hand. Neural plasticity is really interesting, the brain can change so quickly to adapt to new things. It makes me wonder if people with prosthetic limbs feel pain when their prosthetic is hit.

  2. This illusion is amazing! I actually jumped when he hit the rubber hand with the hammer. It is so cool how we can rewire/ trick our brains into believing something that isn't real (Like the rubber hand)

  3. I would love to try this for myself. it was really amazing to see. I bet it would be even better if we did it for ourselves.
