Art is a Feeling

Chapter 7

The first few chapters discussed sight and how the blind adapt to the world; while reading i found myself wondering how i would handle such a situation. Simple every day tasks like walking around my house would become a challenge and i would miss seeing the world around me. I love painting, drawing and any kind of art expression. For me its amazing creating something with my own two hands out of nothing. If i was blind i thought id be unable to draw or paint again. However reading about John Bramblitt's story was  inspiring. He managed to find a way to do something he loved even thought he was blind. His idea of using puffy paint to feel his painting is ingenious, such a creative way to solve a problem. There people out  overcoming their disability to do something they love; if i was blind knowing this would give me the courage to do the same.

  1. I loved John Bramblitt's story. I love to write. I don't do it often but it really helps me forget about everything for a while. His story made me realize that even if something happens where I become blind, it would be difficult to write, but it is still manageable. There is always another way to do the things you love. Another example of this was Beep Ball. Those people loved baseball, so they created a version of it for blind people. It's good that people are still able to participate in their hobbies even though it may be a little more difficult.
