Post 2: acousticophobia

I've always been so interested in phobias and what makes people so scared of one specific thing, place, sound, etc. Relating to perception and your sense of hearing, one phobia that interest me was acousticophobia: the fear of noise. These people have such a fear of sound that they will often be easily startled, sweat, become more nervous, or feel extremely anxious. Fear is a natural instinctive feeling that people have in order to remain safe, but people who have this disorder are startled by every sound and get very jumpy and uncomfortable. When this fear becomes magnified too much it can cause a person great disruption in their lives, especially in the case of acousticophobia.
