Face Blindness

Prosopagnosia, also known as "face blindness", is a disorder that causes the recognition of faces to be impaired. People with prosopagnosia have a difficult time recognizing a familiar face and in some cases they can not recognize their own face. People with this disorder have a hard time being able to recognize the features of a face when they are shown it again. I took the face blind test and received a score of 93% and correctly identified 26 faces out of 30. The point of the test is to help people determine whether they have difficulties recognizing faces. The test showed photos of popular people ranging from actors to political figures. Out of the 30 faces, I was unfamiliar with and did not recognize two of them. I was not surprised by the score I received because I feel like I am good at remembering faces.
