Social Aspect of Perception. Homeless Man Experiment

In this video, I viewed a social perception experiment where a homeless man sat with a sign that read "HOMELESS NEED MONEY FOR WEED, DRUGS AND ALCOHOL". The experiment tested whether or not perception of a homeless man would make people give or not give money. Surprisingly, many people passing by gave money to the homeless man asking for drugs.
The other condition in the experiment was the same homeless man; however, this time he sat with a sign that read "HOMELESS SINGLE FATHER NEED MONEY FOR FAMILY", and a little girl sat beside him as well. Unfortunately, hardly anyone that passed by gave money in this situation.
I thought it was interesting to view a perception experiment that dealt with the social aspect of perception. The video of the experiment is linked below.
