Auditory Synesthesia

Synesthesia is when two senses are crossed. Kaitlyn Hova has auditory synesthesia. Auditory - visual synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which perception of an auditory stimuli elicits a simultaneous visual percept or vice versa. In Kaitlyn's case she correlated sound with specific colors. Usually her c notes are red, d notes are blue, e note is yellow, f note is light blue, g is green, a is orange, and b is dark blue. Kaitlyn Hova and her husband, were able to design a light show that gives us a simulated experience of pitch - to - color synesthesia that responds to a violin in real time. I found that this is very interesting, and the simulated experience gave me great insight on what Kaitlyn Hova lives with.
