Guillain-Barre Syndrome is a disorder where the immune system attacks part of the nervous system causing muscle weakness and in some cases paralysis. This disorder can be triggered by a multitude of reasons including surgery, respiratory or gastrointestinal issues. The disorder affects both sexes equally and is very rare. Little is known about the disorder or how to treat it but most people who are inflicted with it recover fairly quickly.
