Optical Illusion

http://youtu.be/tVgOLWVYytM

Optical illusions are visually perceived images that differ from objective reality. I found this optical illusion fascinating. If you watch the video carefully and follow the instructions, once you look away from the stimuli your perceptions are distorted.  The video creates a natural hallucination based on the motion aftereffect illusion. The optical illusion happens because of repeated psychological stimulation. When you look away from the video your brain still wants you to see the waves in the video, so you it creates them. I watched the video and looked away towards my kitchen. The cabinets looked wavy and when I looked down at the table it looked distorted and a little wavy. It felt weird, and lasted about 30 seconds.
