This is used for the Weber and Rinne test use the metal tuning forks (shown above) to provide an assessment of a person’s hearing level at different frequencies. The tuning fork will vibrate to set frequency to produce a musical tone. The vibrating tuning fold is help next to the ear of placed against the skull to stimulate the inner ear to vibrate. This can help determine is there is hearing loss. The Rinny tuning fork helps evaluate a pateints hearing ability by air conduction compared to bone conduction. Weber tuning fork helps determine hearing by bone conduction only.
