Motion aftereffect

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkRHN0rnfME

This video portrays the motion aftereffect. This video has the observer look at the center of the screen for about 30- 60 seconds- without blinking (or at least trying not to blink). After looking at the center of the screen for a while, the video asks you to look around the room at a stationary object and when you do so the room becomes distorted and moving. It is as though the movement appears to be moving in the opposite direction- like the waterfall illusion Dr. Berg showed us in class.
