Hollow Face Illusion

A creepy optical illusion where our perception of a mask that is concave appears as convex. In other words, the mask seems to be protruding out to you, when it is actually the opposite. If you were to walk around a room when looking at the mask, it appears as though the mask is turning and following you. The reason this optical illusion occurs is because of the 2 dimensional structure of the retina in a world that is 3 dimensional.
