Google Glass is a visual software mounted in a pair of glasses that acts and displays the functions of a smart phone. All within eye sight, is the hands free technology that includes features such as voice commands, text messaging and email, location and the use of GPS, daily reminders, music, video chat, picture taking, news, facial recognition, social media such as Facebook and Twitter, tracking exercise, and much more. The Google Glass prototype became available to the public in May of 2014 selling for $1,500; however, since then Google announced in January of 2015 that they would stop producing the prototype and remain committed to the development of the product.
