You think these two blocks are two DIFFERENT colors? Think again! If you position your finger in the middle of the blocks you will soon to find out that they are actually the SAME color! Due to lateral inhibition where an excited neuron will reduce the neighbors causing a "ridge" to develop these two blocks are seen as two separate colors.
