Change Blindness

"Change Blindness is the inability to notice changes that occur in clear
view of the observer, even when these changes are large and the observer knows
they will occur". We are all guilty of it and we can't help it, if we are focusing on other things like giving directions we may not see that the person your talking to changes, show in the video below. If we could remember everyone's face we couldn't remember all the important things that really matter. It is very easy for people to miss or not notice changes like blinding, eye movement, and a quick block of vision. I found it very interesting as I watched a bunch of videos related many of the same experiments just done by different people. It shows how easy it is to make a mistake when recalling an event in  court or how easy we can be tricked by our eyes, in plain sight. I believe the any of the studies i watched said that about 70% of people did not notice the changes in the experiments. For the people who did take notice they are more observant or were looking in the right place at the right time. Below is a video that will explain it and show it better than i can but i though this one was the most interesting, as well as the most successful.
.
The one video below I found pretty funny especially when the person swap was so drastically different and people didn't notice!

  1. This is so funny and scary at the same time. It is interesting to know that potentially when we are preoccupied with other things, it is very simple for us to miss very obvious things like a person changing to a different gender when we are talking to them. It brings me to wonder what obvious things have I looked over without noticing when I have been preoccupied.
