sense of taste

I learned how much your sense of taste affects everything along with many of our other senses. One's sense of smell can affect one's sense of taste. If we cannot smell food typically tastes different or we can't even taste it at all. Foods taste differently in different settings. An example given in the book was that of going to eat in a completely pitch dark restaurant. The food often tasted bland with the fact that you could not see what you were eating.

  1. I found it very interesting how the people who ate in the completely dark restaurant found that their food was quite dull and bland. That was a perfect example as to how our other senses have an effect on our sense of smell, including our sense of sight. When you think about it, I know I wouldn't enjoy my food sitting in a pitch black room, either.
