Percetion: Floatation Tank blog #2

Joe Rogan, the famous ex-host of fear factor has now become famously known for his experiences inside of floatation tanks. The floatation tank is a small vessel that is filled with body temperature water, added with a lot of salt to allow the body to float inside of it. Going into these tanks cuts off all human senses of sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. Eliminating the possibility of using your senses is suppose to give a person a type of life changing experience, mystical in a sense, since you are left alone to bond with your mind and body. The tanks are meant to be used for relaxing purposes, yet there are possibilities of having a bad experience if your mind is not relaxed. Here is a video of Joe Rogan talking about one of his experiences inside of his flotation tank. In this video he describes having a mystical experiences and experiencing the feeling of becoming one with the world and losing his sense of self. Although he openly admits to being high, he explains that he was unable to use his senses to reassure him of his human form:
