Hearing Loss

Hearing loss occurs as a person ages. According to the National Institutes of Health, "an estimated one-third of people in the United States between the ages of 65 and 75 and close to one-half of those older than 75 have some degree of hearing loss." (mayoclinic.com)  There are many factors that contribute to hearing loss.  The main factors are heredity and exposure to loud noises.  It is important to know the symptoms of hearing loss.  They include, muffling of speech and other sounds, difficulty understanding words, need to turn up the volume on the TV or radio, and withdrawal from conversations.
